How to find cheap flights: 10 tips

Proven tips that make a trip around Europe cost less than dinner at a restaurant.

Updated: 27.10.2026

1. Be flexible with dates

The biggest saving comes from choosing the right day. Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday are often cheaper than Friday and Sunday.

2. Be flexible with destinations

Instead of "I want to go to Rome", check where it's cheapest to fly from your city this month — Europe is small, and it's interesting everywhere.

3. Book ahead, but not too early

Within Europe, the best prices are usually 3–8 weeks before departure. For holidays and summer, book earlier.

4. Hand luggage only

With low-cost airlines, checked baggage often costs more than the ticket itself. A free under-seat bag can make your trip half the price.

5. Nearby airports

Check all airports within 2–3 hours: a flight from another city can be many times cheaper.

6. Direct flights

A direct flight isn't just faster, it's more reliable too: no risk of missing a connection.

7. Book the return at the same time

That way you see the full price of the trip and don't risk the return flight going up.

8. Price alerts

Prices change every day. Subscribe to our Telegram or newsletter — the cheapest trips from your airport will come to you.

9. Online check-in

Some low-cost airlines charge for check-in at the airport — check in online in advance.

10. Don't wait

Found a great price? Book it: the cheapest seats sell out within hours.
